Hello everyone.
I just wanted to announce the arrival of Bennett Barkley Shanks. He was born 6/22/07 at 6:27am. He was 5lbs. 14oz. and 19.25″ long. He looks exactly like Grant did when he was born, but he does not seem to have the RED hair. His hair is more strawberry blonde. I’ll try to send pictures out later today. He was born 4 weeks early as Leigh’s fluid levels were low. He is doing well. He is in the NICU right now as his longs have not fully matured, and he needs a little assistance in breathing until his lungs are fully matured. Hopefully, he will be able to come home in the next week. Please keep him in your prayers. Leigh is doing well. The labor was not even 1/2 as long as with Grant. She is up walking around and will be able to come home tomorrow. We are extremely excited (and scared!) to now have 2 little boys. We hope that everyone is doing well. Talk to you soon! Doug Shanks
